Lancaster Church Softball Champions League Rules
The Champions League will follow ASA rules except where noted below:
Noted ASA rules that will be followed:
1. Mercy Rule: 20 after 3, 15 after 4, and 10 after 5. 2. EH (1) can be used.
3. Start with a 1-1 count. One courtesy foul.
Non-ASA rules:
1. Bats – Single-wall only. See Bat list
2. Pick ups:
If a player is eligible to play for team’s league playoff games, then player is eligible to play for same team in Champions League games.
Note: No player may play for more than one team for the duration of the Champions League
A team may add up to 2 pickup players for the tournament from your league and 1 pickup player from oustide your league. Pickup players must play for only one team during Champion League games.
3. DH (1) can be used.
4. Must have 8 players to start. Can add up to 10 during any part of game.
5. Age – based on player’s league rule.
6. No metal cleats, football or golf shoes.
7. No jewelry (except wedding band).
8. No profanity, alcohol, or tobacco.
9. Ejection suspends for next game.
10. Home run limit: 3 'over-the-fence' home runs per game. Each one after that is a single.
11 . A courtesty runner (whoever made the last out) is permitted for anyone in the line up. One per inning.
Other criteria:
A) Pool games
1) Higher seed has choice of home or away
2) Home team prays
B) Seeding from pool play into Single Elimination Bracket
1) Record
2) Head-to-head
3) Run Differential (Total)
4) Runs given up (team with least)
5) Coin toss
C) Single Elimination Bracket games
1) Higher seed has choice of home or away
- Note: Seeds, 1-12, will be given to each team in the bracket.
2) Home team prays
